Due to the City of Muskegon Heights being closed to the public because of the Coronavirus epidemic, effective Monday, November 16, 2020 and until further notice we will allow citizens to pick up impound releases, Incident/Accident Reports and Sex Offender Registrations/Updates by appointment only on Monday-Thursday from 8:00 am – 6:30 pm. The regular release form process and fees will still apply to the registered owner of the impounded vehicle and the fees for Incident/Accidents Reports will remain at $7.00 per report.
In order to make an appointment please call (231) 733-8900 and choose the option for the records department when prompted. At your appointment time please come to the Police/ Fire public entry door only as the rest of City Hall Public Entrances will be locked. Before gaining entrance to the Police Department you will be required to have your temperature taken.
If you have been contacted by the Evidence Technician to pick up evidence item(s) that have been approved for release you must call (231) 733-8900 ext. 1621 and schedule an appointment with the Evidence Technician. Appointment times will only be allowed during the hours of 8:00 am until 12:00 pm.
